Airport restrictions to be relaxed?

Anything that sticks 2 fingers up at America wanting to dictate to other countries how things should be done is welcome to me however I can't see the government having the testicular fortitude to see it through.

Yes, well I'm not sure that way of thinking will get anyone anywhere:

I'm not sure about this ,has the terror threat diminished ?and if it has, has it diminished because of extra security at airports ,tube stations ect or is the same threat there waiting to rear up once security is lapsed again

An aircraft or several falling in flames from the sky would make these moaners shut up.

Security is something we shall just have to get used to.... right up to the point the US demands all passengers fly naked after an inspection scope has been rammed into every orifice.

At which point I hope we get more US tourists arriving by air..... but not the fat ones! God NO! Not the fat ones!!!!

Well as the US don't implement the measures that we do for domestic flights I'd like to know why not?

Haven't they learned anything about homegrown terrorists yet?

And that demonstrates what exactly? Someone disagrees with him? Awesome, argument over then

America needs to get its own house in order first before dictating what other countries should be doing to protect it.

Id rather spend a few more minutes at security and even wait in a queue and be patient and get it all done than some terrorist gets on board and everyone dies.

Some people seem to forget the fact it is to protect us.

TBH you've got more chance being killed on the way to an airport than by terrorists on a plane.

I don't have any problems with airport security, I do object to this bull plop about liquid restricions.

That's the crux of the matter. Terrorists can come from anywhere, so for the Yanks to expect us to fall in to line without them taking the same measurers is a urine-take.

It demonstrates that the attitude of some British people is so unhelpful as to be laughable.

Don't you think that it might be more constructive to enter into a dialogue, pointing out the pros and cons of the arguments, rather than simply saying "up yours"?

Especially as these measures were brought about as a result of 9/11, yet wouldn't have stopped 9/11 as the four planes were on domestic and not international routes.

I don't mind Airport security, but there is a limit... why do we need to remove shoes? Surely explosives can be consealed in other clothing garments? Removing a belt has no effect on security, apart from maybe your pants falling down on the way through...

Airport security was perfectly adequate before 9/11, but now, as the article says, every time theres a breach, something else is added to the procedure.

I think it is about time to not relax security, but step back and look at the whole process and use the most effective measures that are needed, not the ones the USA says are needed.

The only reason they get you to remove belts is that 99.99999999999999999999% have metal in them that will set the alarm off, and mean that the security peeps will have to get off the fat @rses and check you over with there magic wand.

I'm just thankful we've a less authoritarian government now, too much longer with the old one the security peeps wouldn't have been inspecting our magic wands just in case.
