It's the damage that they cause to the community in general that annoys me the most.It seems odd to me that they haven't done more before this to chase/target the dodgy scrap dealers.Simple things like CCTV and the use of photo ID would appear to be obvious to me..

This is a major headache, affecting VM and BT also.

On a smaller scale we had 22 "brass effect" door knockers ripped off brand new doors we had just installed .The doors retail at about 12-1500 quid each and they all need new slabs ,and the knockers aren't even brass :dunce:

Around here part of a gang (mostly youngsters) were caught after stealing lead flashing from garages and outhouses, metal gates, garden ornaments and railings. An old statue in a park was also sawn off at the feet....

The ringleaders, guys with vans, got away.... but they'll be back I'm sure.
