Can't turn off Voicemail with iPhone
 

Hope someone can help here as after spending 43 mins on the phone to virgin 'Valerie' was not able to help me.

I have an iPhone and even though VM have got voicemail turned off I am not able to stop the receiving of voicemail.

They tell me the problem is the phone but I don't understand how the two are connected, I get the same problem when I put the SIM in an old Sony Ericsson phone and call it until it diverts to voice mail.

Anybody got any ideas how I can turn off Voicemail?!?!

Just for reference if others have this problem.

I resolved it by putting my SIM in a different old phone and turning off all call diverts, since then it has worked OK without diverting to voice mail.
