There's a poltergeist in my V+ Box or is this software related?

Hi guys and girls,

Um... This is a bit of an odd one that has caused a rather nasty row in the household. I thought the misses was removing planned recordings from he TVG but I'm now wonderings if it's the V+ Box itself which is removings the planned recordings.

And before anybody says... V+box became selfaware at 06:30 yeah it's already been quoted
Let me explain in detail what is happening, I press the record button on the controls for a selected program. This is highlighted in RED to show it's going to be recorded. I then press the YELLOW button to record series. If you look in planned programs and planned series it's in there as well.

What is happening, within the TVG where the program was highlighted in RED to record every week... Well this has been removed to record but still present within planned programs and planned series. I have two V+ Boxes and it only happens on the one, the other is fine? Is that odd or what.

So does anybody know WTF is happening here, I can put my hand on my heart and state that the misses is not inane to do something like this, she's a highly intelligent person who wouldn't bother doing something so inane. And I trust her, or there's a poltergeist in my V+ Box or is this software related. I'll tell you somethings else which happens which is really annoying.

You're sat down ready to watch some TV select what you have recorded and it's another program on another channel. That's happened a few times. Any ideas would be appreciated because this business with planned recordings being removed is a mystery.

Thanks

That's the problem I have and they said it's fine? Which is odd, I have a new shiny STB as well. I have to be careful what I say, it was an outsource call so I might have been forbed off.

I would ring back if it persists as the must be an issue, now would be a good time as we are usually quieter of a morning.

Have you tried recording exactly the same series on your other V+? Does that work?

You may need to reformat the hard drive to resolve it.

Out of interest, why are you doing this? You do not need to record a programme and then series record as well. Pressing yellow will automatically record the programme. Try not pressing record and yellow. Just press yellow if you want series record.

Sorry it was the way in which I explained it, I do mean just pressing the yellow button. I have tried recording the same programs on the other V+ STB and it's fine...? I personally think that my son is doing this, catching him in the act is another thing. I have worked in and out of the public and private sector if the IT industry for over 20 years and to be honest the likelihood of a recorded series to remove itself is as much as me winning the lottery. I would want to be in my son's shoes if he's responsible...

Would you agree

How may would say this is a being removed on purpose

How many would you say this is a malfunction

Just to confirm - the episode is still shown to be recorded in Planned Recordings but not highlighted red in the guide? If so, it's got to be a software fault.

Given that recorded programmes are also getting mixed up - ie, says it's one thing but is really another, I'd say that it's a malfunction. It's impossible to do that on purpose.

Might be worth a re-format? I assume you've tried cancelling ALL series records and any manual recordings, and starting over?

Yeah I was thinking formatting I'll just do that and see what happens.
