Happens all the time.

I've seen a bail curfew lifted as the defence lawyer argued his client was too stupid to comply with the conditions. Not too stupid to go out on the rob every night and trick his way into pensioners houses but too stupid to be in his house between 1900 and 0700.

What would have happened if permission wasn't granted, would he have gone anyway?

quite possibly, i get the feeling that he has little respect for law or other people given the violent nature of his crimes whilst already on bail .

How come breaching bail conditions didn't automatically send him on remand ?

Well if they had grounds to think he would not attend then remand the idiot till its time for his case to be heard.

Well, to be honest, he must have some respect for the law, seeing as he bothered to ask for permission in the first place. Perhaps this is what the judge saw and is the reason why he allowed the curfew to be lifted. Perhaps, with his history he would have just up sticks and went anyway, because, if we are to believe the many stories we hear of the law going soft on young criminals, the consequences would have been minimal. Perhaps he is accumulating a new found regard for the law. But saying all of that, it will take a lot more than asking permission for him to be a model citizen.

This is what l have been saying all along, the laws in this country are pathetic, and they wonder why yobos take the mick out of society, and why you have barristers that make a fortune out of the tax payers to keep yobs on the street.

Once you get any curfew or ASBO, the law should be enforced and these should be enforced, next thing the law will allow yobs to go to Florida, so that dolphins can teach them how to behave on the streets.
