Virgin+ remote Won't Allow Volume Code Setup
I have Virgin+ samsumg box and remote. I have tried to input the code for the remote to operate the TV volume, but when I press the VOLUME UP & MUTE buttons together to set the code, I get the same old screen message:
"Volume If you want to set your V+ remote control to make the volume keys work with your TV, then press HOME ............. etc" Any ideas? Andy |
Re: Virgin+ remote Won't Allow Volume Code Setup
Ignore what it says on the tv and continue as per instructions

Re: Virgin+ remote Won't Allow Volume Code Setup
I have a Samsung box too so what are these instructions? My box tells me to press * but there is no * button. My remote has silver logo so how do i get an engraved one
---------- Post added at 17:36 ---------- Previous post was at 17:20 ---------- Ok found the guide http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/10...855-v-faq.html which led me here http://help.virginmedia.com/system/s...YPE=#types_7-8 and 8 looks like mine? but my TV doesn't say anything when i try and use volume, i'm sure it used to give the error that OP mentions above. I get the red light blinking after Vol+ & mute but after that nothing |
Re: Virgin+ remote Won't Allow Volume Code Setup
It sounds like you've programmed the remote with a code, but not the correct one for your TV. You get that message only on a new remote, or if you reset it with code 0683.
Try the other codes for your TV make from http://www.virginmedia.com/myvirginm..._8_Philips.pdf |
Re: Virgin+ remote Won't Allow Volume Code Setup
Ahh thanks i reset it using that code and it blinked twice after as it should.
But i've tried codes for Techwood, Hitachi, Bush and Vestel and none worked. My remote is this: http://www.findremotes.com/remote-co...205-127795.htm which shows as being both Hitachi & Vestel when googling. I tried Bush because my current remote used to control my old portable Bush tv. TV is just a Techwood cheapo from Morrisons.. EDIT: Oooh i tried again and the Techwood first one worked this time i must have entered it wrong  Silly me LOL |
Re: Virgin+ remote Won't Allow Volume Code Setup
As stated in another thread I have bought an LG M2262D 1080p TV.
I cannot find the 4 digit code listed in the remote guide, the 3 digit codes dont work. Sorted 0010 works |

Re: Virgin+ remote Won't Allow Volume Code Setup
Shebag it sounds like your not doing it right(depends on the remote), having a stab at it, I think u gotta press ok afta u input the code & it flashes green twice, then u hold power until your tv goes to standby then as soon as it does that immediately let go and press ok to save the code. You should then be able to take TV out of standby by holding star n power + you can then control volume.
If I didnt help, look through the help & info / TV volume section on your stb gl |
Re: Virgin+ remote Won't Allow Volume Code Setup
do you have the black remote with the virginmedia logo engraved or the black remote with the virginmedia logo in white as both remotes have different procedures to get the codes setup. make sure you pick the right remote control from the instructions because otherwise it will give you the wrong codes
