Saving some £££'s
I'm currently on XL tv, 10 meg BB and weekend calls with a v+ box. I moved over from sky around a year a go on an offer where there was no installation to pay. I think it costs something like £46.50 a month.
I'd like to reduce costs if I can (or get more for my money). Whats the best way to do this? I tried to call virgin but couldn't get through (got bored of waiting). For a week or so the Change Package form online has been broken but was finally working today yet it seems it only allows you to upgrade services, not downgrade which is typical! If I ring cancellations (and can get through) should I try and get them to reduce my costs in exchange for signing up for another 12 months? What sort of deals have people got? Alternatively I would be happy to go down to M+ TV which should save a bit but then is it right that I will have to pay £5 a month for v+? I could almost ditch the V+ box given all the catch up tv stuff but it seems a bit silly to give it up and I'm not that desperate to save the money. Just feels its a lot to pay when most channels I watch are terrestrial! My other option was to get freesat but I think with the initial outlay to buy the box, its not worth it. Thanks for any help! |
Re: Saving some £££'s
Changing to M+ would reduce the cost to £35.99 (includes £5 for the V+). VM gives the price of your current bundle at £47.99 so that appears to save you £12.
I dont know whether you would then go on a new contract. I hope someone can give you the answer to that soon. |
Re: Saving some £££'s
I have the same services and pay £38.99. I just rang retentions up and they offered me a discount.

Re: Saving some £££'s
Just rang retentions. Very nice lady but she wouldn't 'offer' me anything. I've dropped down to M+ which will save me £13 or so a month. Only channel I lose that I watch is Eurosport HD but thats mainly for the tour de france in July and I still get Eurosport SD.
Maybe I'll call up in a month or two and see if they'll offer me a deal to go back to XL TV... |
