Wireless AV Sender

Hi

Just got a tv for kitchen and am looking for any recommendations on the best Wireless AV sender to get for sending cable channels to it. I have a standard set top box and a V+ box.

Cheers

I use http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=224299. Transmits over 5.8GHz so doesn't interfere with wireless internet. Works a treat from downstairs to upstairs bedroom.

Hi

My first post on CF

I am looking for one of these wireless tv senders. Want to share the signal on my cisco v box upstairs with tv in kitchen. I have read a few posts on the forum which link to maplin items although they all seem to have a caveat that the magic eye remote control doesn't work with all VM/Sky etc.

Is there a wireless sender that maintains the full functionality of the vm remote control at the 2nd tv. (this is for the standard box not a v+ box)

Many thanks

The maplin one I linked to works fine with the remote control.

Ah thats great thanks, I might have to purchase one of them for my bedroom, I take it it just connects to V+ box by scart and to my tv in bedroom by scart and all go ??

Thanks

Yep, you connect it to the 'Video' output on the V+. You also get a infrared sender cable in the box which you position to 'see' the infrared receiver on the V+ box so that the remote control works in the new location. If you have a SA V+ box however you won't see any of the menus/guides on the second TV, if you have a Samsung then you will.

Thanks for your help mate, yeah I have a SA V+ box so I will still be able to change channels on my second tv but just without seeing the menu's ?

Yeah you can still change channels just won't see the mini-guide at the bottom so will need to either flick or know which channel number you're after.

Why not talk to VM about a deal for a 2nd box in your kitchen. You should be able to get a deal to get it on the cheap.

Re the remote issue. That applies to the older Pace STBs, I think the 1000,2000.3000 modles used iRDA IR control which was non standard. I believe that the Pace 4000, Samsung and SI/Cisco boxes all use the standard TV IR (35kHZ?) system and should be OK.
