I thought at first it would be rf id or even 2d barcode stamps but in the end they're not intelligent at all, it's the Junaio applications/website that's doing all the intelligent work

2D barcode stamps you could print out at home might be an idea, although it would be, presumably, only an extension of the existing 'smart stamps' service

Personally I still like the idea of supporting a local Post Office, but I'm not sure if these new stamps add much to the experience of going to the Post Office to buy them?
