HD Box
Just had a new HD Box installed but can't get hold of Virgin to answer my query. Every time the tv is switched on, the channel playing on the tv screen is different to the one showing on the HD Box; eg, the tv is playing the BBC news but the Cable Box shows channel 704 (Cartoon Network). The HD Box Remote will change the number on the HD Box but the programme showing on the tv still remains the same as when I first switched the tv on. To clear this I have to use the TV Remote and check that it is on HMDI 2 (HMDI 1 is for DVD use). So far it has always been on the correct HMDI (2) then when I press OK, the HD Box Remote works and I can change the channels so that the TV and HD Box are showing the same programme.
Hope this makes sense, I am not very good at describing this type of thing. It is inconvenient having to use 2 Remotes and while I know what to do, other people use the TV and would have problems in changing tv channels. |
Re: HD Box
Swap round the two hdmi leads as you might find that HDMI1 has the priority

Re: HD Box
Are you sure that it isn't on a freeview or freestat input when you first switch on?

Re: HD Box
Thanks for your responses. Question though. Is swapping HMDI Leads as simple as just unplugging and changing them over or are there any other things that have to be done.
Not sure about the Freeview. YeS, it is set up FOR freeview and the TV has an outdoor aerial connected (the Virgin man told me why this had to be but his explanation went far beyond me). Didn't have any problem with the old box so don't know why new HD Box should be different. |
Re: HD Box
Have you tried changing channels with your freeview remote control when your first switch on.

Re: HD Box
Had a queer issue in that the TV would always start up showing a freeview channel instead of Sky in spite of "Start with AV" being selected on the TV.
Turned out swapping the scart leads where they were "daisy-chained" through a DVD Recorder sorted it out. :dozey: |
