BB Curve 8520 Trackpad

Hey Guys

Got a right nightmare on my hands with the BB Curve 8520.

The trackpad has stopped working and as a result it is causing me a right headache.

I have had the phone since Dec 09 so I am wondering, do I call Virgin and get them to swap it or am I about to enter the belly of the beast and contact RIM?
