Site connection problem.
Hi everyone.
Sorry if in wrong place very new to all this my question is about web sites there mainly 2 sites at moment that I used to use but now for some reason keep getting message saying this. The connection has timed out Problem loading page. taking too long to respond. * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web. Seems no problem with firefox could see with them and my net work on my side seems fine as am able to connect to all offer sites at the moment, don't believe its a problem with my fire wall as sourly it would say if is?? and site not blocked from what can see. (don't even know what a proxy is) Cant say sites as against this forums rules but was ones used often please give me advice on what to do?? |
Re: Site connection problem.
Try opening a command prompt and pinging the sites, see if they can be reached that way, the command is ping sitename.com
example https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2010/08/29.jpg or you could use this link to check if the site is still up. |
Re: Site connection problem.
Tried above and all got said tried 4 times but could not connect something about timed out ect because that's what site said to do wrote back saying what happened and still could not connect but they never replied.
Thank you for your advice tho. |
Re: Site connection problem.
Do you know the sites are still alive?
Do you know if you have been specifically blocked / banned by the site concerned? If the site (which you can't name implying it isn't a good one) is of illegal / dodgy content it may have been blocked by your browser (anti phishing type technology), firewall, antivirus or even at ISP level. |

Use that to confirm if the sites are actually responding, if not then it's the sites fault, if they are then it's probably yours or VM routing issue |

tried this and said its fine. the site said. You do not use google to connect you use google DNS. Please visit the following sites and apply either of their DNS's on your computer. this a bit of worrying as don't know what it is. http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/ http://www.opendns.com/ Are sites give me. |
