hotmail viruses

A mate of mine is having issues with his email sending out weird links to sites for viagra or other drug related stuff....

He doesnt have a PC nor a laptop and only uses it on his Ipod touch and his Xbox360.

Now i have changed his password for him and this didnt help, any ideas what else?

Blame Virgin? Isn't that what you normally do? ;)

Check his other settings. I believe it's possible to have a signature or responder 'out of office' message corrupted so that it sends these links.
I'm not sure of the exact details but remember seeing something reported along these lines.

Are you sure that the email is originating from his system?? I get bouncebacks all the time from spammers spoofing one of my throw away email addresses but the emails do not come from my system..

Usual thing then is to change all the security details that not only includes the username but also all other details like DOB/security questions/address/...etc..

Changing password is normally ineffectual as the correct security details can get passed the password

I've seen this a few times from people who've signed into one of the many 'who blocked me' sites relating to Live Messenger - their live messenger account usually gets piggybacked too, spamming their contact list with adverts and links to malware.
