Macbook keeps dropping connection with Netgear WGR614 v9

Hi

My Macbook keeps dropping its wireless connection with the Netgear WGR614 v9 router that Virgin sent me. This started a few months back and I've been running it wired since then but now want to get it sorted.

It was fine before that and I've run a PC laptop without any problems and my iPhone connects fine every time too.

I've also used my Macbook elsewhere without any problems too so it seems to be a compatibility issue.

Occasionally it will connect for a short time and then the connection slows to a crawl or drops out completely.

Airport usually still sees my router but times out when I try to connect again.

Have seen a few threads along these lines but can't find a definite solution.

Any help gratefully received.

Thanks

Have seen loads of similar threads so am thinking of getting a new router. But I want to be sure that's the problem before I shell out.
