.MOV files help
My Kodak zx1 makes files in .mov format how do I convert these to be able to transfer to a DVD and watch on a TV? I have no idea!
Thanks for any help. |
Re: .MOV files help
.MOV files are Quicktime Video files.

Re: .MOV files help
What types of file will your DVD player play?
Some DVD players will play various files, not just DVD discs. |
Re: .MOV files help
does the camera not have tv out?
|
Re: .MOV files help
If the zx1 is anything like my zi6 then yes it has both composite and HD out...
.MOV is just a container for h264, it does depend entirely on the program you use to make DVD's, which dvd creation programs do you have? |
Re: .MOV files help
I used roxio to convert avi files straight to a DVD and they played on my DVD player. How can I get the Kodak .mov files to a disc as avi files?
Can play direct from ZX1 but want to put on a disc. Thanks |
Re: .MOV files help
Which version of Roxio (version number and whether it's full, OEM), just that only the later versions start having support for HD to DVD conversion..

Re: .MOV files help
Cant see a version on it, it only comes up as small icon and no way of seeing version?

Before you start it might be a good idea to find out just what's inside those mov files. Use a program such as mediainfo or gspot. It shouldn't be difficult to convert them to avi files then. |
Re: .MOV files help
Format Factory (free) to convert to any format you wish.
DVDflick (free) to make these into DVD's |
Re: .MOV files help
Audio = mp4a: MPEG-4 AAC LC
Video = AVC1 They're great little cameras, we got ours purely as the 720P (zx6) has a 60FPS mode so great for attaching to the bikes and cars for fast action vids |

Can use FormatFactory as Taf suggested or MediaCoder or Winff ... and others. They will convert to avi. |
Re: .MOV files help
Convert to .wmv and use DVD maker? lol :)

Re: .MOV files help
Either way DVD will not be able to show at HD so using something like Super to convert to a SD standard that Roxio or another program can put onto DVD is probably the best way to go about it
