ADSL2+ router with WiFi N & Gigabit Ethernet?

Can anyone recommend a good ADSL2+ router with 802.11n & Gigabit Ethernet... for £100 or less?

Hi, look at the Mikrotik routers, i use literally hundreds and they are fantastic bits of kit. i use the RB450G mainly but there are better ones out there that support the real 802.11N is that the 2.4Ghz flavour or the 5Ghz???

Cheers :tu:

Only needs to support 2.4GHz N, as none of my N devices support 5GHz.

How about the Asus RT-N16? It's just within budget and a monster of a router, specs-wise (for a commercial home router anyway). Have you considered building/making your own? Seriously. I'm just about to finish mine - it's a doddle and you end up with a massively more powerful and configurable machine for less than the cost of a commercial box-o-crud if you scout around for bits. :)

That's not got a built-in ADSL modem. Only any use for a cable connection, unless I had a separate modem.

Haven't looked at building my own. tbh, I'd prefer a commercial box-o-crud purely for space & convenience.

Anyone used one of these?

Belkin F7D4401uk Play Max Dual Band Wireless NN+ ADSL Modem Router

Or got experience with other Belkin routers?

I've only ever had Netgear or Linksys before.

Sorry mate being on the cable forum I honestly completely missed the ADSL2+ mention in your OP. I just wasn't looking for it lol

OK even i missed the ADSL bit, the mikrotik ones dont support it, when i had adsl, i used a seperate modem, gigabit router and an access point, they just seem to work better not being in the same box, also for fault finding 'tis much easier :)

I've been using the linksys WRT610N (OK so it's not ADSL2, but you'll get the idea) for probably a couple of years now. Most of the time it's OK, but I've never really got to grips with it's USB storage link thing. It's probably one of their earlier models so I did flahs it with third part firmware. Periodically, especially if the computer goes into standby it seems as if the IP addresses get "lost" requiring a reboot but whether that is a fault triggered by the computer or router I ahvan't a clue. Overall I'm happy with it and when we last held a LAN party there will have been one hell of a lot of leeched data passed through it over the course of nearly 48 hours and some 12 or so different computers.

I got the Belkin N1 Vision when I switched to ADSL a couple of months ago.

Strangely I lost 0.5 meg sync but it seems far more stable than the O2 supplied router as that needed rebooted 2 or 3 times a day, with the Belkin it only needs a reboot when I've been messing about with the settings.

The Gigabit Ethernet is brilliant for the home network, streaming to PS3 etc. Can't really comment on WiFi N as I only have G compatible devices.

If using the BE/O2 network it's worth getting an DSL router with a Broadcom chipset where possible, they tend to play nicely with the exchange kit.
