Epson SX515w Problems

I bought this printer boxing day from Staples and on Sunday it decided to throw a wobbly. It wouldnt recognise Black cartridge which was the original in there. I changed the cartridge for another one and it recognied the cartridge but wouldnt print. Now Staples sent the printer and i have had a replacement today. The replacement will only print in Blue. I have changed all the inks and still only blue. I have run the head cleaner 18 times and its costing me an arm and a leg in ink. All staples keep saying is we will have to contact Epson to see what they can do.

Now with my health and so on i cant keep running back and forth the store carrying a printer, i find it hard enough as it is to walk let alone carry a printer.

What would people on here suggest?

I would suggest downloading this pdf file: http://www.berr.gov.uk/files/file25486.pdf

and then once you've done that simply goto page 15 read up on the stores responsibilities if you can print them out all the better you can then take a copy back to the shop with you. Then based on the fact that the printer hasn't worked correctly since the day of purchase, request your money back and go and purchase another printer from another company.

it has worked properly since the day of purchase, it was purchased on Boxing day and threw a wobbly on Sunday. The Replacement Epson sent is also a dud.

Re: Epson SX515w Problems

Hey guys

I am new to this forum and would like to ask you a question about EPSON SX515W
Right ... I bought this printer (new) from ebay a while ago which came with original inks etc.

I did not open it till recently cos I was not in need of it ... however, one night I decited to set it up, so I installed the apps. connected it via usb and installed the inks.

Now, I printed a document off and ... all I saw was lines ... weird!
I did run the NOZZLE CHECK and the HEAD CLEANING a few times, in matter of fact, I wasted a set of inks by doing those two options - because the printer did not print well.

Yet, I still get lines through the document, even tho' I run them two options so many times and stilll ... i get this crap output ... anyone had similar problems ?! I do not really want keep purchasing inks and then waste them by trying; Nozzle Check and Head Cleaning!!

Any suggestions??

Epson support told me u shouldnt clean the heads more than 5 times at once.

U could contact Epson to see what they suggest?

u can buy cleaning cartridges...

try the part under Epson here it mentions the 515w

http://www.stinkyinkshop.co.uk/blog/...sort-of-thing/

Epson Replaced my 515w for a 600fw after i threatened to report them to Consumer Wales.

After the second one failed they told me there were over 1000 in the warehouse as there had been stock issues and i would recieve one within 2-3 working days.

It never happened and when i contacted them they stated that i would have to wait 6-8 weeks and i said no and wrote a letter to their head office stating what had happened and the Sales of Goods act etc and within a week they rang me and said they were replacing it with a brand new SX600fw and i had it next day.

Can i still get it replaced by Epson .. or what?!

how to do the Nozzle check and Head Cleaning which I did anyway.

Re: Epson SX515w Problems

I had a chat with them .. and this is what I got:

15:54:17 : AgentSean Huffer: all I can recommend for this issue would be head cleans, we recommend up to 6, you have done this already so there will be a mechanical fault with the unit that would need repairing or replacing

Meaning, whatever it will cost ... I pay on top of it.
WTF!!! They produce sh*t stuff and then the buyer has to repair it.
