Anyone here rooted a HTC Desire yet?
 

as above. If you have have you had any problems? is the upgraded rom any different to stock?

I aint even got the phone till Monday but I am eager to play

I haven't done it because you lost the HTC Sense.

I know someone who has done it. He seems happy enough.

Wont be getting mine till mid Aug :( If there ever was a piece if technology I lusted over it is the Desire.

my first impressions are its certainly no better than the HTC HD2 and I may well get it unlocked and sell it

Just be aware that there are reports that if root it and then try and install the recent updated firmware it stops the WiFi working

BTW I have heard we'l get the update officially on the 23rd June. That's unconfirmed though.

That will be for Froyo - though don't know when the VM branded ones will get it.

However there was an update last week that fixed some bugs (including the random Facebook contact on some Texts) that is causing the issue with the rooted handsets. VM Desires have yet to get this one either

I have this handset on Vodafone and find my wifi a bit hit and miss at home which is a bit of a pain as my other halfs iPone doesn't. Random drop outs for a couple of minutes. But other than that a truely great handset.
