iTunes has stopped shuffling songs

It was shuffling ok last week, and I can't remember if I've had any updates to the programme or to my system since.
It plays a song then stops.
You know how it is when you do things automatically then can't think how you did it when you try to explain it?
I think I use the right arrow key to skip to the next song - and that doesn't work either.
I've got iTunes 9.1.1 on OS 10.6.3
I double checked that I haven't got the skip option ticked.
Any ideas?

Are you in the right play list? How many songs are in the list you are playing?

Fixed it!!
Started of by deleting and reinstalling.
But when I opened the programme everything was the same as it was before - even the songs and playlists were there - and so was the problem.
So I deleted everything in iTunes. This wasn't a problem for me as I'm in the process of sorting through the music I transferred onto my laptop.
Added some files, and voila!
Just some sort of glitch I suppose.
Wouldn't have been happy if my music had been organised properly though.

Nothing had changed Paul since the last time I used it.
I've just imported 400 songs and they're playing fine - even the right arrow key is working again.
