European Goal of the Season (09/10)

What's your favourite European goal of the season?

Choices from The Guardian:

  1. Maicon (INTERNAZIONALE v Juventus, Serie A)
  2. Nicky Maynard (QPR v BRISTOL CITY, Championship)
  3. Benjamin Huggel (FC Zurich v FC BASEL, Super League)
  4. Lionel Messi (BARCELONA v Malaga, La Liga) (with help from Xavi)
  5. Lukas Jutkiewicz (MOTHERWELL v Hibernian, SPL)
  6. Clint Dempsey (FULHAM v Juventus, Europa League)
  7. Chris Cohen (Blackpool v NOTTINGHAM FOREST, Championship)
  8. Samir Nasri (ARSENAL v Porto, Champions League)
  9. Karim Benzema (Deportivo v REAL MADRID, La Liga) (with help from Guti)
  10. Maynor Figueroa (Stoke v WIGAN, Premier League)
  11. Ismael Bangoura (STADE RENNES v Boulogne, Ligue 1)
  12. Arjen Robben (Man Utd v BAYERN MUNICH, Champions League)

That was my choice...................until i saw Huggel vs FC Zurich. Maicon's goal is magnificent but Huggel's has everything and just edges it for me. It's almost the perfect goal.

Def a very nice goal but Maicon's was against alot better opposition.

Barely better. Have you not seen how Juve have played this season? They've been awful (as the defending for this goal shows).

Besides, using that as a major criteria would mean there wouldn't be much point in asking the question in the first place. You might as well just ignore any goal which isn't scored in Spain, Italy or England.

For sheer enjoyment, Jutkiewicz then Dempsey then Cohen. As a neutral lover of the game (and naturally an Arsenal hater) Nasri's was a rather good solo effort. :)
