Poor Freeview picture in mornings..
Hi. I wonder if anybody can help. I live in Liverpool and my aeriel is pointing towards Winter Hill. My freeview picture on the various TVs in my house was fine until recently. The picture is scrambled on all sets first thing in the morning for a couple of hours but settles down for the rest of the day. Even more recently the problem has started to occur in the evenings aswell! When the picture does settle it's superb quality and the signal strength displayed on screen is between 76% and 86%. Totally puzzled. Any ideas?

Cool mornings and evening, warm daytime.. normally means that you have a corroded joint somewhere which is fine when the joint expands but as it shrinks (morning/and now evening) it breaks the signal path..
Well that's how it reads to me and the only explanation I can think of |

Could be the co-axial where it joins the antenna, could be the mechanical joint itself where the joining screws are normally rivetted to the antenna elements, cound be a simple break or even waterlogging of the co-ax causing such a reaction..
I would though suspect the joint of the antenna/co-ax first |
