Anyone who needs advice from that gent really needs his head examining.

Hell, he'd be far better off writing to a woman because at least then he'd actually get some advice that will get him partway to understanding females.

If you don't understand the opposite sex, don't ask one of your own sex as they are as likely to be as clueless as you...ask a representative of the other sex.Horse's mouth and all that. You certainly don't ask a Jack the Lad..

No way what this simply an error. It's in the manor of the poor humour, 'laddish' culture and general disrespect and ignorance that makes up magazines such as Zoo, the editor clearly didn't think much of it.

that's what i thought ,it's been put down to a "editorial error" now someone had to say it ,then someone had to write it down then proof read it then the editor gets to see it ,so many chances for someone to look at it and say ..hang on a minuite ,we might get in a bit of bother about this ...so in my opinion the magazine is just as culpable as Dyer

Noone writes in actually asking for relationship advice. I'm not sure anyone actually writes in at all. Its supposed to be scripted for comedy/entertainment purposes but of course fell considerably short of that.

The silly thing is, the Danny Dyers of this world that I know are actually quite defensive of women. If they'd heard about a man abusing their partner they'd go round and "sort him out", en mass. So any writers who tried to play on his cockney, bad boy image seriously got it wrong.

I still say that asking any Jack the Lad for advice on women is a BAD IDEA.;)

FFS, I was listening to some stupid bra burning women on Jeremy Vine, banging on about how lads mags should all be banned etc..... what next!!!! wife beating in the Beano!!!!

If anyone actually thinks that Danny Dyer wrote that then they are idiots.

Dyer is protrayed as a cockney geyser, he's starred in 10's of Guy Ritchie type cockney gangster violent movies.

The Dyer agony uncle column is ghost written by some staffer in Zoo magazine and is written to reflect the image Dyer portrays in his movies.

Was is in bad taste? probably, but this is being blown out of proportion by the usual "what next?" crowd.

It's bad taste humour, that's all. Now everyone calm down. The ghost writer in Zoo will now probably get the sack.

I think this has been done for publicity.

As for Danny Dyer, well, he seems all right sometimes, but a bit of a tit at others.

One thing I remember hearing last year that made me laugh was apparently Danny Dyer had written to Charlie Brooker complaining about having the mickey taken out of him and threatening to give up TV presenting as a result. Charlie Brooker took great delight in stating how proud he was.

Whoever wrote it needs their head examining and if this is what passes for lads humour these days thank god i am not a lad. Any publication printing something like this isn't trivial because there are idiots out there that take it all too seriously and domestic abuse in the UK is a big problem. It's one problem no one really wants to tackle and despite how it is often portrayed there are as many men victims of it as women. Such stupid comments as the one printed really are pathetic and show a part of the reason why we have problems in this country.

Whilst this was a stupid comment in an irreverent lads mag.

Before women start getting all freaked out about it and go on a crusade against lads mags.

Shouldn't they be more worried about the messages the marie claires and grazias of this world dish out all the time???

The Woman I heard talking about it on Radio 4/5 Live was resonable, that this was meant in humour but was indicative of a lack of respect and understanding which was far more worrying than simply an off-colour joke.

I think it's unfair to criticise them when their main concern is preventing domestic violence and someone makes a rather casual joke out of the issue.

I have never seen any of his movies and quite frankly, until now, have never even heard of him. But I really don't think he actually writes these things. I presume thy just use hi name and photography and it is written by some office lackey. The thing is that this had to approved by someone and I think they should stand up and be counted. If they are "man" enough to pen this tripe, they should be "man" enough to admit it.

Personally, I have never seen the attraction in these publications, to be honest. I think they are boorish, chauvinistic, misogynist garbage.

I couldn't agree more Pierre. I've had many's an argument with women friends about the utter excrement printed in the magazines so many women love to read. Its quite obvious to me as an outsider (to womens concerns), that the women fashion fascists are the worst enemy of the woman in the street. Womens mags have a bottom-line to cover at the expence of undermining the self-confidence of the average female consumer.... I'd sooner use any womans magazine to wipe my arse, than pick it up and read on pain of death....

Agreed!I gave up on them the day the owners gave my favourite woman's magazine a total remake over back in the 80s.
