If you change your network or router MAC then you should get a new IP as the DHCP is leased to the MAC, new MAC = new lease

If you found software to change your modem MAC then that simply = NO INTERNET ;)

Isnt that only your INTERNAL IP address?

I dont think this would affect your OUTSIDE IP (The one issued by your ISP)

Interesting to think about things like this..

Nope...and it will.;)

As Kymmy says if you change your routers Mac Address you will be issued with a new ISP provided IP address, after rebooting the modem of course....the same way connecting a completely new router will result in a new ip address too. Other than any changes using Automatic DHCP in your router might make though your internal IP addresses shouldn`t change at all.
You can always clone the Mac Address from one device to another if you really wanted to try keeping the same IP when swapping Routers. Not that it`s guaranteed to stay the same with VM`s own automatically assigned IP addresses of course. I rarely ever see a new ISP provided IP Address now that i think about it, unless i force the issue. Even turning our router & modem off every night rarely results in a new ISP provided IP Address.

I believe the VM DHCP system remembers the old Mac > IP association for at least 12 hours, thats why turning it off overnight would be ok. It will only give that ip out to another mac address after this time limit, or its short of ip addresses.
