Sony DMC-HX1 20x optical zoom bridge camera

I'm interested in this camera and have read a few reviews from DP Review, Photgraphy Blog and Steve's Digicams but would be interested in any feedback/views on it and higher end Sony cameras in general from those of you who're into photography.

Cheers.

Personally for that sort of money I'd avoid for one reason, lenses... I'd rather have something that you can get a couple of dedicated constant apeture zooms for...

Thanks Kymmy. I should have explained that I don't want to go down the route of DSLRs etc..

All in all, I've been very happy with my last 2 superzoom bridge cameras and have reviewed a list of models and come up with this one as possibly the best for my needs, albeit a compromise solution. However, I've never owned a Sony camera before and would like some specific feedback on them (and hopefully this model) from real users if I can get it.

ps Rumour has it that a certain Lord Nikon has a Sony camera.... Where is he when you need him??.... :)

Had forgotten this thread and thought I'd better update it. Well I got the camera a few days ago and am really delighted with it so far. The HD video quality is an excellent bonus.

My input wouldn't have helped much, my Sony camera is a Handycam - DCR-SR42 Hard drive Standard Definition Handycam 30Gb with 7 hour infolithium battery.
