Doesn't surprise me at all - they're just more victims of the whole immigration mess. The traffickers know the rules our government is bound by and that there's very little we can currently do to stop people coming here under false pretences or deal with those who send them. Given that the likelihood of the traffickers getting caught is pretty small it's no wonder they do it.

Try Paris, Madrid, Rome, Nice, Milan, etc., etc., etc., they are the bane of people's lives even standing beside cashpoints ready to grab the cash as it comes out...

I had a run in with a teenaged Roma in Belfast in November 09. I was taking cash out of an ATM and one of the Roma beggars who in now can be found all around Belfast City Centre decided to try and sell me a copy of The Big Issue. Of-course, being rather conscious of good security, I spotted her incoming. She got to within 3 feet to be met with me suddenly raised finger pointed directly at her nose, and then having me firmly telling her to Foxtrot Oscar, in a tone of voice I copied from my last SSM.... Needless to say I'm not a happy camper if I clock a beggar near an ATM on the street, and will go find an ATM in a bank instead....

Have to be honest where i live we have had a couple but not a big problem with them but i am aware of them being a problem elsewhere in the country. It really is time for those who are arrested to be sent back to country of origin rather then tie up our systems that are already overstretched dealing with them. We could also setup things in their country of origin to help them a little more in terms of training although given how poorly we train legitimate residents in this country maybe not.
