network query
At present I am connected to the mains electricity supply, the broadband via the ethernet/router and am able to use the internet on my netbook.
When I disconnect the mains electricity and use solely the battery, with the ethernet/broadband/router still connected, I get the message internet explorer cannot display webpage. Please could you advise is it a network problem and the possible remedies. Many thanks. |
Re: network query
You've possible got a powersave option that deactivates your network card. If you go into control panel, somewhere in the internal nic configuration there may be a tick box which will say something like activate nic when on battery power.
I'm not at a laptop just now and this sometimes differs between different makes anyway. |

Re: network query
Thanks for your replies, but I'm a total Luddite/:dunce: re anything IT.
I've gone to the Control Panel/network and internet connections/internet options which brings me to various tabs e.g. general/security and have looked in each section but there is nothing marked as powersave or nic that I can see. If you could advise further I'd really appreciate it, (It's for a Samsung Netbook) Thanks from the Luddite:) |
Re: network query
In control panel there should be a separate icon for Internal NIC Configuration. You may have to switch to classic view to see it (top left hand side click switch to classic view.
You should see an option there to activate the nic when running on battery. |
