TV programme's volume
This is one of my major bugbears of TV in Britain. Often with imported programmes, and increasingly with home-grown stuff, the adverts and trailers are an order of magnitude louder than the actual programme itself, thus forcing you to rapidly find that volume control to stop having your ears deafened by adverts that aren't interesting.
Why have broadcasting companies not heard of this wonderful technology called normalisation? Lowering the advert volume to the programme volume would be of such benefit. |
Re: TV programme's volume
They have, but they would never be allowed to use it by the advertisers, who, for obvious reasons, *want* the adverts to be noticed, even if it irritates the viewer. Even if you are irritated by an ad, the fact you have noticed it means you are more likely to be influenced by it.

Re: TV programme's volume
Luckily the sound normaliser built into my TV notices this and sets it to the same amount of noise as the program :)

Re: TV programme's volume
When a programme is about to go into the ads I just mute till the programme I'm watching comes back on again. Thank god for the mute button

Re: TV programme's volume
Great thing about downloading everything i watch, is that all the adds are removed.
Been a good few years since i've had to sit and suffer any of that nonsense :) |
