Creating a password protected website

I want to use my VM web space to store files that I need, and if I forget to pick up my usb flash drives.

Is there a way to put a password protected folder that only I could access?

I have both Dreamweaver 8 & frontpage 2000 at hand.

I don't beleve that the free VM webspace supports .htaccess functions. That is the only way I know of to block access to the general masses.

Bugger

I had a folder that is on there but not linked.

I guess I could do this but password protect them.

http://crystalsinger.myby.co.uk/htaccess.html

*.bluyonder.pwp.co.uk / *.myby.co.uk users have always been able to use some htaccess functions on their free webspace

Dunno if it's any help to you but I use dropbox (https://www.dropbox.com/) for this type of thing.
