Line Stays Engaged

Hi,

My landline consists of a BT base unit , three wirles hansets and a fixed handset and has been working fine until this evening. I answered a call which could have been automated as it was very noisy that is similar to a modem/fax, no human voice. Since this time all wireless handsets show "busy", and the fixed handset cannot get a dialling tone. If I ring the landline from my mobile it is "engaged".

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to force this call to "disconnect" ?

Unplug all your 'phones and leave them disconnected a a good few minutes... sounds like the caller has kept hold of your line. HTH
