Dlink DIR-615 router power light problem!

First off sorry if in wrong section.

Hey guys need a bit of help.

My router been working for months until today anyway.

The missus was giving me earache about tidying the wires up behind the computer so I had to unplug everything (modem and router) but when I plugged it back in the power light on my router just blinks orange (continuously). I have tried using the reset button on the back with a paper clip and nothing happens, even tried getting onto the dlink config page but can't get on without a connection.

Any help would be appreciated because now I have more earache cause she can't use the wireless on her laptop lol

Cheers in advance!

If it is a Virgin supplied router call Tech Support who will replace it if they find it faulty.

To much of an effort lol

I'm sure it's just a firmware issue but don't know how to get firmware onto the router

Try this and if it does not work call in for a replacement as it has a 2 year warranty.

You need to call Tech Support which is open 24/7 on 151 from your Virgin Media Phone.

It's absolutely free.

Or call 0845 454 1111 from any other phone line.

Sounds like you plugged the power supply from the modem to the router that will kill it everytime. the PSU for the router has a plug that is at a right angle were it plugs into router were as the one for the modem is straight

It will still be replaced under warranty as the is no way of finding out what caused the fault.

If you have plugged an incorrect cable in and it is a higher voltage you may have damaged the router, but if you call up just say its faulty and do mention what you may or may not have done or they will not replace it.

All I did was unplugged it while I was sorted out the wires.

I then plugged in the right cables etc I don't understand lol

Been working fine for months I tried what you said and it don't work.

Call up and complain about it not working they will get you to pinhole reset it, find that is not working and replace it.

Job done, and you will receive a new one next week.
