No red button for 5 days!!

My Samsung box SMT-2110C has had the Return Path light flashing for the last 5 days.

Looked in the Settings > Techincal Stuff menu and I have the following:

DHCP Status: Return path is off
Return Power: UNKNOWN
Timers: UNKNOWN
QOS: UNKNOWN
(8126)
(164) Failed to lease an Address with DHCP
(163) Failed to range
(169) CM Forced Reset

I have reset the box by offing the power and via the power button on the front but it's still the same.

Do I need to call faults?

Yes you do, the return path is faulty and usually they change the box to put that right ...had it myself twice ...

Well, sods law it's working today!

Didn't have time yesterday to ring so this morning I'm ready to do battle with them only to find the flasher has disappeared. iPlayer now works and other red button content.

Box now says:

DHCP Status: Return path is on
Return Power: 48dBmV
Timers: T1:0,T2,0:T3:13,T4:0,Reset:1,Sync:0
QOS: v9873254k
(8129)
(172) CM Operational

Must have been either a local fault/maintenance/forgot to reboot the red button server!

If your broadband was working ok during the loss of interactive then the box may well still be faulty... if it goes again (and I think it will) you will need to call Support on 151.

Ah! Yes, broadband was working fine. Only thing to do then is wait and see if it happens again. Cheers!

No worries!.... I've also had the same myself and it was the modem in the box that was faulty... box swap cured it :)

seen this happen a few times with other customers.
