SA V+ on it's last legs?

I have had my SA V+ box for a number of years now and had no problems at all with it but over the last couple of days it has developed a fault.

It will be fine for a few hours then the picture will start to pixelate and steadily get worse until it is unwatchable. If I move the box the picture will clear up and be fine for a few more hours.

I have checked all the connections and even disconnected all the cables and reconnected to make sure they are all in properly.

I have not had the chance to ring faults yet but has anybody seen this before? is the box on it's last legs? I need to know before the engineer comes out so I can watch all the stuff i have recorded!

EDIT: I forgot to say that the box has been in the same position for years and has good ventilation so it is not an overheating problem.

Thanks in advance.

Although it does sound like a cabling fault, I suggest you watch everything just in case.

It could be a signal fault inside the V+ box (hence moving it changed the picture) or the cabling from the wall socket to the box, either way you need a tech out to investigate.

Mine was doing the same, in Technical Stuff menu, what is your signal level at? If mine goes above 55Dbmv the picture starts to pixelate.

I disconnected all the coax cables connecting the STB, modem and splitter to the service box and re-connected, streightening any bends in the cables. This then brought my signal back down to 47Dbmv and the issue resolved.
