You must mean these two which came in high and then went low about 200ft(ish) over the north end of the village yesterday at 10:33z (they were high as they came over the Chilterns before hitting the village)

Oh.... Nice to see the SF Chinooks flying as ordinary Chinooks after 8 years as Hanger Queens. Typical balls-up under Nu-Liebour.... :rolleyes:

There were two in formation over Hampshire yesterday - heading for Odiham - probably the same two.
We are on a regular Chinook flight path - can feel them coming well in advance of seeing them.

We get Chinooks, Lynx, Merlins/Pumas as well as being on the flightpath for the Chiltern Air Support (police) and occasionally my favourite the Apache longbows.

We aso get a lot of the stuff coming in/out of Duxford..

Lately though the Puma's and Chinooks seem to be using the village as a nav point as they tend to alter both height and heading at the north end of the village where we are

Helicopters are fine as long as they keep on moving, hearing them hovering over your head for years on end can send you a little batty.

IIRC these Chinooks were grounded because their software hadn't passed safety tests. Pity this didn't happen to the earlier ones (like the one that crashed on Mull).
