Myleene Klass warned by police

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/news...ith-knife.html

Miss Klass, a model for Marks & Spencer and a former singer with the pop group Hear'Say, was in her kitchen in the early hours of Friday when she saw two teenagers behaving suspiciously in her garden.

The youths approached the kitchen window, before attempting to break into her garden shed, prompting Miss Klass to wave a kitchen knife to scare them away.

Myleene was aghast when she was told that the law did not allow her to defend herself in her own home. All she did was scream loudly and wave the knife to try and frighten them off.

i suppose the correct thing to do would have been to throw the shed keys out of the window, before evacuating the premises and leaving it unlocked to assist the intruders in their lawful right to take what ever they want:rolleyes:

Perhaps she should have gone outside and confronted them.

Then she may have been punched by one of them, knocked to the ground and left for dead in the snow.

Perhaps today we would have then been waking up to a different story.

Well done MK I say.

She should have shoved it into one of them and made a job of it.

Defending yourself in your home now includes running into the garden and knifing 2 people does it? Do people often live in sheds? I would say if she was in her home and the youths were breaking into her shed the threat to her life was fairly low at that point.

I'm all for granting homeowners to defend themselves but that stops quite a way short of running after people and executing them over a small amount of property. If the garden counts, does that mean the driveway is fair game then?

Un bloody believable. The UK is fast becomming a place where if your some scummy little oik your in the police's safe hands where if you are the victim you have sod all rights.

An Englishmans home and all that.
If the local council would allow me to build a moat around my house to protect myself and my property I would.
But as they wouldn't give planning permission for something like that, I'll protect it however I can.

You have the right to protect you and your family's lives. Not property. Not even in the USA will they let you off for executing a burglar for stealing a lawnmower.

Total non-story

So basically a cop went round and checked the house then said something along the lines of

"Don't go outside with a knife if you see someone, call us straight away"

And it gets reported as

"Don't do anything ever"

Still it proves the Police do attend calls like this despite some people thinking all they do is sit in warm offices playing pool and drinking tea.

Bit silly telling the police you waved a knife at someone.
