V+ box problem.
Hey all, please help.
Got a V+ box & been with Virgin for a long time. Never really had a problem with ANYTHIN' tbh. But now this problem has arisen & been through to their faults team twice & arranged an engineer. After the engineer just postin' a card & leavin', not even knockin' on the door (as i was in waitin' on him) I'm sort of fed up & stumbled upon here. The problem; Our old TV started to go a little crazy on us. So we replaced it with a new one. Now when we connect the V+ box to the new 1. It says on the box that it is LIVE TV rather than what it used to be. & the two lights remote & online, the ONLINE one is currently light & the REMOTE 1 is not. Which is weird because we used to have the REMOTE 1 on. Now the remore DOES work, but now we can't see what channel we are on, or the home page. Infact, we cant see ANYTHIN' we do on the remote. How do we get the REMOTE light on instead of the ONLINE 1?. Please help, would stop callin' out another engineer. Thanks. |
Re: V+ box problem.
Are you connected by scart? It sounds as if you are plugged into the wrong scart socket on the V+. This is why you cannot see the menus.
If you have a new TV, you would get a better picture connected by HDMI. |

Re: V+ box problem.
If the TV does not have HDMI then I would plug the scart lead into the socket marked TV on the V+ box then plug the other end into the TV (AV1) socket. This will get you menus. The menus do not appear when using the VCR socket as stated above.
If you have a V+ box and a HDMI TV then you really should get an HDMI cable for around £5 - £15. (Don't spend a fortune or be conned by the salesman though) The picture will be upscaled and alot better that scart. You will also be able to watch the HD channels depending on your subscription. CableFan is right about the lights. This is normal. Hope this helps Duke |
