Want to delete an old ntl website, but no longer know any detail

Hi All,
About 5 years ago I had an ntl account and created a website for a guitar society. However I have not been with ntl (Virgin) now for some time and have lost all details of the account. The website is completely out of date and is causing confusion. Someone wants to create a new website but the old one will be found by search engins.
I just want the whole site deleted. Does anyone know how I can do this?
Thanks,

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Your situation is identical to another recent poster and that thread can be found HERE

Thanks for the link Kymmy. It seems, looking at this other thread that getting it removed might be nigh on impossible. :(

In the end only VM can help.. Do you have you old details (acc number..etc) that you can confirm to VM who you are and that it was your site.. If so then get on the phone to them (probbaly tech support and NOT customer services is the best option

Ask Vm to look on their "old" system, they should be able to pull up your old details. They had to do this when they swore blind an email address my mum had been using since the dial up days did not exist. Eventually they found it

I dont really have any details any more - just the web site URL - suppose they can look up my home address and things like that. However if no one is paying for it you might think it would be deleted.

It seems the account is still live - my wife has stayed with ntl/virgin. She has phoned them and they have reset the password (which I know). I can now login to her email account. I have forgotten how to access the web page however, or maybe it requires different data. Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Still having problems, I dont seem to be able to connect to the NTL Upload server. I think it may be due to being on a wireless router. I downloaded an FTP but dont seem to be able to configure it to work (to connect to NTL), regarless of the username and password aspect.

FTP should work fine through wireless (you're initiating the connection not the other way round)

Do you have a software firewall stopping it?

Well I tried turning off the firewall and it did not seem to help. I may have some basic setting wrong I suppose.

Might be totally wrong here (yep I sometimes do get things wrong) but is VM webspace FTP restricted to VM connections only???

That might explain it.
