The Icelandic parliament finally agrees a £3 billion compensation package for the UK and Dutch governments who bailed out savers with failed Icelandic banks:

Given that a quarter of the Icelandic population signed a petition against the deal, I can understand his reluctance to sign the bill. Still, I don't see it as a positive move for Iceland's future.

Ah well, if the Icelanders want to destroy what little international confidence there was left in their banking sector, let them. They'll only have themselves to blame.

Looks like 2 years of my earnings will continue to languish in London, under the oh so safe hands of Mr Darling.... I have a feeling that by the time I get my money back it will have shrunk from £200k ish to about 47 pence.... :erm:
