BBC red button freezes V+ box
 

Ever since getting my V+ box, launching BBC interactive from the red button has been slow, very slow - anything up to 1 minute from the first press to getting through to the menu.

Recently it also freezes during the launch and needs a reboot. Annoyingly it's usually when a sports event is continuing on interactive and I'm eager to watch it, so doubly frustrating.

I rang Virgin about this a year ago and they blamed the BBC (for some reason I can't remember, but it sounded a bit lame).

Is this "normal" behaviour from V+ ?

It was always normal behaviour for me with cable tv. :(

Mind you that was with a V box.

No, it's not 'normal' behaviour from a V+ box, although some on these forums do report problems. Speaking for myself, I have not come across these problems, so I think you should get an engineer out.

On a related note, is the red button supposed to work on the BBC HD channel?
It seems to either hang or reboot when I try it on mine?

Yes, it does the same as the other BBC channels.

Whereabouts are you and which make V+ do you have?
