TV Bandwith
 

Afternoon folks,

Bit of a wierd question here, but I have noticed from time to time (espically Utorrent). If I switch my V+ to a live HD feed my transfer rate drops about 50-100kb/s instantly.

UI have also noticed 2 with the neighbours moving the in flat next door. The don't have there own burgendy cable box on the exterior wall, infact the hjave a wire coming from my box into there house.

I am just wondering if this could act in a way of sharing and cut the bandwith availble to my property. I was going to call up VM, but to be honest I doubt customer services would give me an accurate answer.

Just wondering if anyone would have a clue. My connection is not that bad in all fairness, but it used to be better.

VM TV channels are all broadcast in a linear format (as do freeview & satellite channels). Whichever channel you switch to, or your neigbours for that matter, it will not degrade the service. The same goes for broadband. The modem locks to its own allocated frequency on the local hub.

As long as you are receiving adequate signal strength the shared connection should cause no problems.
