Problems with my Virgin picture

Hi all,

I have a LG 37LB5D (37" 1080P HD) TV which I bought over with me when I moved from Canada.

I have a Samsung V-Box which was installed before the TV arrived, so the engineer didn't have a chance to see it. I have a SCART to composite cable driving the TV. The colour is fine, but there is ghosting, especially on black parts of the picture. Also, it seems like I am often missing the bottom section of the screen, as if I'm getting 16:9 view into a 16:12 (4:3) picture.

Any ideas? The TV only has a NTSC (and ATSC for digital) tuner, but the colour seems to be OK, so I don't think that is the problem. It works fine when I drive it off VGA, and I was driving it off HDMI in Canada.

I intended to get a HD package, so I'm not 100% worried about the composite signal problems. However, I was holding off getting the HD box until the price dropped a little. It might be worth jumping straight in now - do I need to book a site visit from an engineer, or can I just pick one up and plug it in myself, and if the former, how long do I expect to wait? Will I have to pay £75 or £150, as I don't want to keep the old STB around?
