To Quote the council Rep "politically correct"

This country gets worse by the day

A council spokeswoman told the East Anglian Daily Times: "In particular with John being a councillor we have to be politically correct."

She added: "It is very sad because it is part of the fun of bingo but unfortunately in today's society people take it literally."

Which means that the do gooders would insist that we have to fund it as its an addiction.;)

I think this has more to do with the bingo caller being an elected member/councillor than anything else. Members have to follow certain rules/guidelines, and it's the LA's job to make sure they stick to them.

Although in this case it does seem a bit over zealous,

Makes me think of the case a few months back where a Council canteen changed the name of "spotted dick". It's political correctness that isn't needed(is any of it?).

Political Correctness is like a religion on it's own. one where you can't imagine the Queen using the toilet and deny she had to have had sex to have children :)

The thing I found most amusing about this, is that the East Anglian Daily Times sister paper - The Evening Star, put a full list of old style Bingo Lingo on their website.:)
