Journalist wins £800k for bullying etc.
 

As mentioned in another thread a few days ago, last week a former NOTW sports journalist was awarded c. £800k by a tribunal in recognition of bullying, unfair dismissal and disability discrimination.

Whilst I don't have a problem with this per se, having heard Mr Driscoll's account of the sort of dubious tactics he was allegedly subjected to, I couldn't help wondering what tactical advice he would now offer to his fellow hacks. I mean it's not unknown for some of them to indulge in a few dubious tactics and a spot of serious harrassment themselves when they sniff a juicy story...

Meanwhile in another case relating to bullying, Carol Hill, the dinner lady sacked for telling the parents their daughter had been assaulted at school has lost her internal appeal against dismissal:

Well, its about par for the course in Britain, as a civilised nation. Keep your mouth shut and perhaps get screwed by your employer, or do the right thing and deffo get screwed by your employer....
