SMTP issue
Hi, I hope someone can help me with this.
I use my ntlworld email on a laptop using MS Outlook 2007. I would like to be able to send email from where ever I am, that is kind of the point of having a laptop so I can be mobile, but of course when I am not connected to my home network I get error messages. This gets very frustrating. I have called Virgin Media and they told me that for every different location I go to I have to ask them what their outgoing email server is and change my settings. I can't do that for every location, that is just stupid and half of them wont know the answer for a start! Please, I thought there must be another setting as I hate the ntlworld webmail, it is just shocking and apparently I can only get the new singing and dancing one if I change my email address to a virginmedia one and I can't do that it would cause so much trouble. The ntlworld webmail doesnt download any sent mail back to your email client so is just useless as I need records of my sent mail. Please help me? Andrea |
Re: SMTP issue
I didn't think you could send email from NTLW/Blueyonder unless you were on their network. I know however that you CAN receive emails.
Perhaps one of the more "in the know" guys here can elaborate/correct me :) :welcome: to the forum Personally, if you're going to be out and about alot, I'd get a GMail account. Far more flexible. |
Re: SMTP issue
Thanks for the welcome :-)
I have a gmail account but moving everyone across onto it just seems like such a huge nightmare. Andrea |
