National Football Museum

Is to move from Deepdale to Urbis in Manchester.

It should have stayed at PNE & had money pumped into it there. As it is, the museum will be lost from a historic stadium and Manchester will lose a central venue for imaginative art & social exhibitions e.g. the current Ghosts of Winter Hill... :(

Re: National Football Museum

Now they've gone and closed one of the few decent affordable restaurants in the city centre, The Modern.

It even made a profit last year...

The Modern was born out of the pretentious Le Mont and after a patchy start, offered solid, high-end British food and an impressive cocktail menu. It also made a profit last year – something a few of Manchester’s other restaurateurs wouldn’t have minded. If Confidential were to rub its crystal ball, we’d venture the NFM bosses don’t see it as a natural fit for the new-look Urbis.
Burger and chips cafe? Possibly, although it’s a shame to see one of Manchester ‘s better – and more distinctive restaurants – close its doors.

Some clubs preserve their own history, doubt they would be keen to do a independent one.
