Man kills wife in sleep

I bet he is so feeling guilty, I do feel for him.

It does seem one helluva waste of resources to be dragging this man through a legal process. Either way he is not guilty... or is the prosecution seeking to have him institutionalised.

My question is: How can "Automatism" be "insane" as your consciousness doesn't play any part in it! Its just your body doing as it wishes, whether that be sleep walking down to the fridge for a snack at night, or doing harm to someone... Either way you are not controlling what happens, or, in fact, have any knowledge of it in the first instance.

The only reason this poor bloke knew is when he woke up with a dead wife which is very upsetting and unfortunate for him that he has to carry this around for the rest of his life!

query though

If this man has a sleep disorder than can become violent then why was his wife sharing his bed? if ever there is a reason for sleeping seperately this kinda thing is one of them. I note they normally sleep apart. Big mistake sharing on holiday eh

Well it doesn't say if anything like that has happened before - but I guess it might have if they sleep apart - all speculation though.
