Wireless Problem
I have been using this wireless router for a few years now with no problem. D-link. All of a sudden I can't go on the internet. I can connect with a strong signal, but no internet. I can pick up my next door neighbor and connect using his internet with no problem. I took my laptop to my son-in-laws house and connected to his wireless with no problem. My other desk top computer upstairs picks up my d-link with no problem at all. The only one who can't go on the internet in our house is me. If I hook up the ethernet cable to my computer I get internet. It just won't work with my router, but anyone else can use it with no problem. Any idea what's going on?

Re: Wireless Problem
Download Xirrus WiFi inspector and see who is around you locally on the same/close channel. Google "802.11" and find the channel piccy on Wikipedia. Move the channel away from anyone else.
Radio interference is a funny thing. Just because one PC can pick up the signal OK doesn't mean another in the same house can. A strong signal means little if it's being interfered with by someone else. From what you posted it sounds like your PC is set up OK. |
