Brown government even more unpopular than Major's

Labour seems to have set a new watermark for unpopularity by being even more unloved than Major's government.that's some thing that i thought could never ever be beaten by any government that came after it.

All governments are bad, it's just that some are really... really bad.

Major's government was unpopular simply because the tories had run out of steam.

Brown's government is unpopular because they really are [beep].

Well i doubt this comes as any surprise to anyone outside of the bunker in number 10 and no doubt ol gordon will continue because he is always right no matter the reality.

Go and re-read the OP, it's about popularity - and Mrs T. never lost a general election as Conservative Party leader, no matter how good or bad a PM you think she was. ;)

I hate Thatcher but I have to admit she had a certain charisma.

Hell even the Grey Man has Brown beat hands down in the charisma stakes. Something I never thought possible.

Brown seems to be doom and gloom personified. I can't bear to even watch him. :(

I wonder if, in 12 years time, they'll be discussing how Osborne's government is even more unpopular than Brown's government. Of course, someone is bound to bring up Blair!

Say what you like about Major, but at least he won a general election as leader of his party, with a record share of the vote and therefore had a real mandate to rule the country. Brown just had a hissy fit for years until Blair had got his record for length of service and then dumped the useless scottish **** on us.
