Virgin ADSL disconnect when phone rings

Hi All,

My Virgin ADSL internet connection drops whenever my phone rings. The router dsl status LED flashes at 2hz indefinitely unless I phone out from my house phone, at which point the LED begins to flash at 4hz then the connection re-establishes. This is very strange and annoying.

I have only one telephone in the house, connected to the microfilter to which the router is connected.

I have read it may be an issue with a low signal quality. Here are the details:

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 12791 kbps 859 kbps
Line Attenuation 32.0 db 14.0 db
Noise Margin 9.10 db 6.0 db

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Changed your filter? Is this the only telephone socket on the line in use?

Could it be a dodgy filter?

Yep could be that or a number of things. Information about setup on the line, other things connected to the line and how many filters in use would be useful.
