CCTV camera films Poppy can theft
A couple have been caught on a CCTV camera apparently stealing a full Poppy Appeal can from a petrol station.
CCTV pictures captured the carefully-planned theft at an Esso garage in the shadow of Ibrox Stadium in Glasgow. Video here - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/8345619.stm Could people get any lower...wait silly question. :td: |
Re: CCTV camera films Poppy can theft
Hope they catch the theiving barstewards, actually I hope someone recognises them from the cctv pics and pops round their house with a baseball bat.
How did they know it was full? You can guess where that stolen money is going. Aparently Osama's funds are getting a bit low. |

Unfortunately this despicable crime is on the increase. Perhaps longer sentances are required!

Re: CCTV camera films Poppy can theft
Last year our local branch of the British Legion lost 6 collecting tins in this manner.
Having been involved in the counting of poppy appeal cash it can be anything from £10 up to £50 per can so when full they represent a lot of money lost to the charity. Usually though we have a raffle and auction of various donations and the members make it a matter of honour to try and make up for any losses to such thefts.. Sadly though we have lost our HQ to recession needs. The bar did not make sufficient profit so now we have no where to conduct such events.I'm thinking the branch stands little chance of survival now.:( Never mind there is another branch in the main town centre so I think we will have to put our efforts to supporting them in future years. We are only a mere borough branch and a town with two legion branches was doing very well indeed. |
Re: CCTV camera films Poppy can theft
The footage shows the male moving the tin just before his accomplice joins him - perhaps he did this to assess how full/empty it was and therefore whether it was worth taking the chance.
Anyway the pictures are unusally clear so I can't imagine these *******s will remain unidentified for too long. As for the punishment they'll get, well what's the betting it'll be a slap on the wrist..... |

Can't quite work out if they are going for Dumbest People of the Year, Or Less Honourable People of the year?

Re: CCTV camera films Poppy can theft
I'm saying nothing regarding this thread because I'll go into one of my tirades again. I'll say one thing, find them and jail them. They aren't descendants of anyone from this country so they might think that by lifting one it will be OK.

And here are some other instances of bar-stewards stealing poppy tins. Felixstowe Perth (funnily enough, the only thing brown about this **** is his name) Grimsby |
Re: CCTV camera films Poppy can theft
In my local Pizza Hut there is a picture of a girl who died at a young age and the collection tin underneath is no longer there because it was stolen TWICE.
Some people have no morals whatsoever and deserve anything bad that comes their way! **** |
