Massive Speed Fluctuations
Hello, and sorry to bother you all. Few time browser, first time poster :)
I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction or shed some light on my problem. To give you some background info, I live in a house with 2 others, one uses the net for casual browsing the other is abit OCD on the gaming/streaming...I'm abit of a gamer but not too much. Week before last house mate decided to download Watchmen HD from Xbox Live, some 7 GB in size if I recall and since that time our internet has been basically useless. At first I though it was our connection had been capped but a week or more has passed and levels are still hideous. Tonight my levels, from speedtest.net fluctuated from 0.34mb to 19.5mb. Our internet is in my girlfriends name and she never gets time to ring up virgin, so I come here looking advice. We pay for 20MB, Medium TV and the phone, as part of a package, post code is BT9 (Belfast), and there is an NTL cover on the wall, so I'm assuming we were NTL but I don't know the network type. ownstream Lock : Locked Downstream Channel Id : 51 Downstream Frequency : 299000000 Hz Downstream Modulation : QAM256 Downstream Symbol Rate : 6952 Ksym/sec Downstream Interleave Depth : taps12Increment17 Downstream Receive Power Level : 7.2 dBmV Downstream SNR : 40.8 dB Upstream Lock : Locked Upstream Channel ID : 2 Upstream Frequency : 47400000 Hz Upstream Modulation : QAM16 Upstream Symbol Rate : 2560 Ksym/sec Upstream transmit Power Level : 41.0 dBmV Upstream Mini-Slot Size : 2 Tests taken during writing this https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2009/11/57.png https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2009/11/58.png https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2009/11/59.png Many thanks and sorry for the very long post. |
